Description

Colorimeters are commonly used for color measurements. These instruments are expensive and can be time-consuming to operate. A more economical and versatile alternative can be developed with the help of Artificial Vision and Artificial Neural Networks. To this end, LabVIEW 2013 has programmed an artificial vision application that allows, through digital photographs, to analyze color according to the international standard CIELAB or L*a*b proposed by the International Commission on Illumination (CIE 2004), recommended for scientific work on colorimetry. At the same time, there is the possibility of using artificial intelligence methods, such as Artificial Neural Networks and image analysis or Computer Vision to create this application, which performs exactly the same function as a colorimeter, but in a more versatile way.
