Description

Assessment and transfer of application techniques and technologies in rural engineering and the environment. Thus, research within this line of work is oriented towards the technological conversion of waste into by-products for their economic and environmental recovery. Experimentation and analysis of energy sources from vegetable oils, biogas or biomass are also key. The assessment and enhancement of natural resources to promote its knowledge and the rational use of these resources is another one of the main lines of work in this area of research. This unit also includes research on the management of ozone for agricultural applications, on the revaluation of agri-food waste and biomass in general, and on fish scales.

Agricultural sector. Agri-food sector. Industries related to these sectors, such as those dedicated to the production of fertilizers, phytosanitary products and machinery, among others.

Additional Information:

The search for technological solutions to the needs of agro-industry, agronomy, agro-engineering or environmental agents, through applied research, experimental development or innovation, is a key activity for ITAGRA.CT, organized from the R&D&I area, which manages and executes the developed projects. From a provincial to an international level, and for all types of companies and institutions, ITAGRA.CT carries out an integral work in the development of R&D&I projects, from the inception of the idea to the dissemination of the results, including complementary support in the search for the necessary financing, according to the client's needs. The multidisciplinary nature of the area's personnel, in which specialists in various subjects assigned to the units that make up the area participate, allows them to develop projects with a global approach, providing complete solutions. Techniques: Agricultural laboratory. Microbiology laboratory. Experimentation laboratory. Those laboratories work on the necessary analyses for the good development of the agricultural or food activity (soils, foliage, water, fertilizers, compost, animal feed, seeds, but also wines, surfaces and microbiological parameters for the food industry, among others). Premios Proyecto Graverde (Graveverde’s project awards, Premios de Medio Ambiente 2009 de Caja España (Caja España’s 2009 environmental awards).
