Description
Development and optimization of new technologies for air conditioning systems to decrease the environmental impact of the buildings' air conditioning and heating systems. The activity of this research line is divided into different areas of study: - Development of prototypes of evaporative cooling systems: passive systems used to cool large amounts of air, characterized by their low consumption. - Design of heat pumps: heat transfer thermodynamic machines with high energy efficiency. - Energy recovery: use of residual energy from both water and air. - Construction of heat pipes (heat transmission tubes) for energy recovery and evaporative cooling in air conditioning. - Simulation of radiant conditioning systems with or without thermal accumulation (underfloor heating, cold ceiling panelling, Thermally Activated Building Systems - TABS, etc.). - Data monitoring and acquisition of comfort as well as power and thermal consumption values in real air conditioning installations for further analysis and continuous improvement.Other information
