Description

AIMS
The aims of the Research Group are:
a)    Reduce the energy consumption in buildings, decreasing the environmental impact due to energy use, by implementing alternative and renewable energies, energy recovery methodologies and collaborating with the public services about the legislation to be fulfilled by buildings in order to secure an efficient energy consumption
b)    Optimize the energetic systems in buildings, designing the services in order to achieve the criteria of the near Zero Energy Buildings (nZEB) or Net Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB)
c)    Implement renewable energies or low environmental impact systems as an alternative in the higrothermal adequacy of indoor spaces by, for example, the use of bio-oils as fuel, air solar thermal systems or evaporative cooling systems.
d)    Analyse and improve the indoor environment conditions where people take place their activities, making compatible the best thermal comfort with the optimum primary energy consumption.
e)    Disseminate all those technical aspects and research results by publishing articles in high quality scientific journals and participating in expert congresses, as national as international, so the results derived from research can be applied by other researchers and technical personnel, with the common objective of reducing the energy consumption maintaining the adequate comfort grade in buildings.
f)    Disseminate by courses of specific knowledge in the fields where the research activity of the group is developed. These are academic and training courses about HVAC systems and services, Indoor Air Quality, Energy Efficiency Labelling, Solar Thermal Systems, etc.
