Description

The LPI GIR (official research group of the processing images laboratory in its Spanish acronym) focuses its research activity on the analysis of medical images and the processing of biomedical signals.
Image processing algorithms of general purpose
Denoising of images: filtering, MRF estimation and level-set segmentation.
Elastic/articulated registration
Image analysis for clinical studies
Signals of physiological/actigraphy (1D) signal processing
Intelligent MRI image
Types of medical images: 
X-ray (hand, foot, teeth)
Ultrasound (foetal, renal, cardiac)
MRI/DMRI/perfusion (brain, heart, liver)

Additional Information:

Since 2005 the GIR is considered by the regional government of Castilla y León a “Group of Excellence” (GREX326). The group is in constant collaboration with doctors from the two main hospitals of the city of Valladolid (Clinical Hospital and Río Hortega Hospital), as well as from the Complejo Asistencial Universitario (University Healthcare Complex) of Palencia.
