Description

ILUMINARTE is a new light concept for inside ambiance, whose main feature is that it can be completely folded, as it lacks structure or inside wiring and includes a totally flexible printed wiring board. This leads to high cost savings at logistics level and the reduction of environmental harmful gases emissions. All this is possible due to the use of a flexible and customizable printed wiring board, which is sticked to the lampshade. This shade is made of paper, allowing it to adopt any desired shape. Moreover, it includes a battery, so it can be easily transported and placed anywhere at home, no needing to look for close wall sockets.

Applicability of technology:

Yes

Companies and markets:

Lighting. Furniture. Interior design.

Advantages:

Light system using the modern LED technology and based on the Akari paper lamps designed by Isamu Noguchi, which were produced in the middle of the 20th century. ILUMINARTE's most important, innnovative and advantageous aspect lies in its wiring board, printed on paper, so the lamp lacks inside structure or wiring. It inverts the current design concept, as the wiring board is traditionally hidden within the product. However, here it is part of the object visual language and its main esthetic appeal, drawing on Japanese inspiration to develop our design.
