  • Investigation GroupInorganic and Organometallic Molecules with Transition Metals (MIOMeT)

Description

OBJECTIVES:
The general purpose of the group is the study of the synthesis, reactivity and physical properties of interest of transition metal coordination and organometallic compounds, with special emphasis on their possible biological or nanotechnological interest.

The main objectives are:
  • Synthesis of new molecules.
  • Characterization of the synthesized molecules.
  • Reactivity studies (how they behave, potential applications).
  • Development of new organic ligands to build molecules with metals. Inclusion of chirality.
Some specific objectives:
  • Applications in functionalization of biomolecules: peptides, proteins, nitrogenous bases, etc.
  • Development of new nano-sized species to anchor metals. Applications in the separation of nanotubes.
  • Use of organometallic complexes in the preparation of nanoparticles with special properties.
