Description

LACECAL was created in 1991 with the aim of promoting the improvement of the technical capacity and technological resources of the region. The laboratory thus develops an activity that provides technical services to industrial companies and other institutions, not only in the region but also at the national and international level. Its objectives include:
  • Provide a calibration service accredited to the industry.
  • Make available to the Community the necessary services in various Legal Metrology Areas (electric energy meters and measurement transformers).
  • Provide an Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing service.
  • In 2000, the LACECAL ASSOCIATION was created by a group of companies and institutions from the autonomous region of Castilla y León, providing their services at the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineers and at the Scientific Park of the University of Valladolid.
Its main activities in order of chronology are the following:
  • Calibration
  • Legal metrology
  • Electromagnetic compatibility
  • CE marking
  • R&D projects
  • Distance training via internet
  • Electrical safety
  • Photovoltaic tests

Currently, the following official accreditations are available:
  • Accreditation No. ENAC 49 / LC10.028 of the Area of Electricity, Time and Frequency - Year 1995
  • Resolution of the General Directorate of Industry, Energy and Mines authorizing LACECAL to carry out the verification tests of electric meters - Year 1998
  • Resolution of the General Directorate for Industry and Technological Innovation, authorizing the Electrical Calibration Laboratory of Castilla y León (LACECAL), to carry out tests on measurement transformers to control compliance with regulatory provisions - Year 2004.
  • ENAC accreditation nº OC-L / 142 for the State Metrological Control: Marketing and Commissioning Phase for electric energy meters - Year 2009.
  • ENAC Accreditation No. OC-I / 159 to carry out the State Metrological Control: Instruments in service phase - Year 2010.
