Description

The aim is to study the sound landscape in protected natural spaces and their influence on wildlife. For this purpose, information is being collected to know how this topic is being treated, in terms of the characterization of the sound landscape, the influence of noise pollution on wildlife, and the corrective measures are being applied. The main objective is to propose an acoustic index that is adequate to measure noise pollution in protected natural spaces, and propose a procedure for noise management in these natural spaces.

Other information

Number of researchers:

Development status:

In research and development phase

Differentiation in the market:

Quality

Applicability of technology:

Yes

Companies and markets:

Acoustic engineering, environmental, architecture and industrial sectors. In the architecture field, both manufacturers of building materials and all the actors involved in the construction process. Local/regional/national administrations may be interested in the work developed by the research group, as one of its strengths is precisely its compliance with the legislation on acoustics in buildings. Local/regional/national administrations may also be interested in the work developed by the research group on environmental acoustics, since most of this field's legislation is recent and the European directive related to environmental noise management is facing changes. Its publication is imminent and it will bring about regulatory, legislative and technological changes in the assessment tools.
