Additional Information:

SPPORT (Computational Models for Strategic Project Portfolio Management). To be competitive in a global economy, companies must define innovative strategies and translate these strategies into a project portfolio. Therefore, the discipline of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) has become increasingly important over the last decade. In this R&D project, we developed computational models to help companies manage their project portfolios, including project selection, prioritization, portfolio balancing, risk management and also more operational issues such as project scheduling, resource allocation and portfolio tracking. ABACO-GEMA (computational techniques for the management of multiproject environments). The objective of the ABACO Project was to achieve definitive international scientific recognition in the field we have been encouraging: the paradigm of agent-based models in the analysis and feasibility of complex systems. Emphasis is placed on essential research aimed at strengthening the connection of the INSISOC’s scientific network at a national and international level. This was consistent with a considerable effort to engage and collaborate with scientists and experts. The project had two pillars, corresponding to two competitive national projects: ADAPCOMP and SICOSSYS are tools funded by Spain’s Ministry of Science and Innovation. In this project, we have explored and developed new methodologies for multiproject management environments that overcame the limitations of previous methodologies. Multiproject management with artificial agents. Project management has focused primarily on the development of tools and methodologies for individual projects. However, companies generally work in multiproject environments, where several projects are executed simultaneously using a common set of limited, shared resources. In these contexts, managers must prioritize and select those projects with the greatest added value for the portfolio, taking into account the benefits and strategic objectives of the company, but also the possible resource and time constraints that could arise in the implementation of the projects. Environmental Strategies for Innovation & Internal and External Relations. Despite the importance of both types of social capital and collaborative networks and some notable insights provided by existing research from many different perspectives, existing understanding of the phenomenon remains fragmented and incomplete. In order to contribute to the development of a broader understanding, this research project examines the impact of both types of collaborative networks—internal and external social capital—on innovative ambidextrous strategies and the innovative performance of companies. Available equipment: the Scientific Research and Technological Development building facilities at the Miguel Delibes Campus: INSISOC’s Computer Laboratory. Seminars and conference rooms. Recording and streaming studio. Linux server. Computer simulation software: Netlogo, among others. INSISOC is an Excellence Research Group of Castilla y León (GREX 251, 2004), whose members are located at the University of Valladolid and the University of Burgos (Spain).
