Description

Orientation in a place is a day-to-day action for the human being, that appeals to knowledge based on the experience to find the path. However, we need information of points of interest in an unknown environment so people can see them and be guided in the right direction, that is where our new device comes into play: Wayfinding. Wayfinding is currently present in everything that surrounds us, and it is an important part of any well-designed setting. The goal is to create an orientation network to allow the user to find their way, quickly and without being too complex to understand. This device has been designed to create an orientation network to allow the user their mobility inside a public space like, for example, a museum. This design has an attractive design with a geometry based in basic volumetric shapes. The designed system is adaptable to any architectural space by attaching it to the wall and with the possibility of rotating the mirror to a certain angle. Its structure has been thought out and traced so the assembly is performed easily, built with high renewable materials that undertake its function extending the product’s lifespan.

Advantages:

- One of the innovative and beneficial features is the addition of a plaque, which will include the information or numbering of the rooms stamped, with the possibility of being swapped or replaced if necessary in a quick and easy way. - The visual interaction that is produced with the visitor or user through a mirror methacrylate panel, attached to the outer tube. The possibility to rotate this mirror and adjust it to an angle makes the viewer able to see the inside of a room or any part of the traced path from a far distance. This is possible due to the mechanism the device includes.
