Description

OBJECTIVES:

The purpose of the Group is to deepen the knowledge of the History of the Spanish Family, its material culture and its social projection during the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, from different perspectives and methodological approaches.

In this sense, the diversity of family types and groups will be considered, the family as a unit of production, work and consumption, as a framework of social and gender relations, a space of cultures and rites, of transmission of material goods, identities and mentalities, and the development of formal and informal sociability, within and outside the family unit.

Likewise, the expression of these behaviors will be analyzed in the social, political and economic spheres, in the rural and urban world, and in the regional and national space.

Starting from the Castilian historical reality, an analysis will be established compared to the rest of Spain and Europe.
