Description

OBJECTIVES
The purpose of the group is the study of the cultural and literary relations between the Iberian Peninsula and the English-speaking countries in different historical periods, the literature of exile in the Modern Age, the cultural and diplomatic exchanges between the Iberian Peninsula and the British Isles in the Modern Age, the reception of English-language literature in Spain and its material conditions, the image of Spain in English-language literature and documentary testimonies of travelers. All these aspects will be studied following a fundamentally deductive work model, so it is necessary to work directly with the documentary and archival sources in a first phase (location, transcription, note taking, graphic collection of material), in order to be able to move on to the study of this material in a second stage, in which the results and conclusions will be given birth.

The Group's objectives are:
  • Explore the texts that bear witness to the cultural and literary relationships under study, both canonical works and unpublished or little-studied documents.
  • Analyze the texts under study, classify them, contextualize them and, when necessary, transcribe them.
  • Bring to light through publications, research articles, books. monographs or editions the conclusions of the investigations carried out.
