Description
Aims of the Chair
Its activity will be focused on:
1. Promoting and enhancing scientific relations with other national and international research and teaching centers, with the aim of promoting a greater connection in related areas and fostering the exchange of teaching and research experiences.
2. To organize Forums and Meetings on Industrial Organization, Innovation and Technological Development.
3. To provide complementary training:
3.1. Both to students in their final years, thus contributing to their insertion in the labor market. In this area, we have the more than positive experience of the 4 years that Michelin has been carrying out the "training agreement" with the UVA, through which 54 students pass through its training classrooms and receive the same courses signed by Pseudo PAVES).
3.2. As continuous training for company personnel, thus helping the transfer of new tools and methodologies.
4. Contribute to the coordination of internships and the realization of Final Projects in the Michelin company. Establishing a prize for the best Final Project.
5. To contribute to the exchange and training of students and/or professors abroad by providing ERASMUS scholarships for Clermont-Ferrand (France).
6. Contribute to the definition, organization and delivery of advanced postgraduate training (professionalizing Master). The Chair has already contributed to the implementation of the Master's Degree in Project Management at the UVA.7.To develop R&D projects, i.e., activities to generate new knowledge, normally co-financed by public entities, with medium-long term objectives and high risk. However, experience shows the need to have a relationship prior to the project for a better understanding of the problems and cultures of the participants.

Social and economic interest
- Michelin Awards for the best end-of-studies projects. They have been held uninterruptedly since the 2002/03 academic year, although it is true that the number and amount of the prizes has been increasing, until reaching the current situation of 5 prizes for a total amount of 4,200 €.
- Courses in "Transversal Competences", which have been held uninterruptedly since the 2002/03 academic year (18 editions), although they have been suspended for the time being by COVID. The implementation of these courses has meant that approximately 810 students have received more than 1,600 hours of training, which, in terms of 4+4 four-month PRAS, is as if Michelin had provided the equivalent of 26 PRAS 4+4.In addition, the selection process allows a maximum of 200 students each year to take a series of tests, as if it were a mock selection process for a real company (an experience that is highly valued by the students, even if they are not selected).
