Description

The general purpose of the initiatives developed by this research group is to contribute to the study of music and its impact on the performing arts and cultural heritage in Spain. This goal is necessarily pursued with an effort to contextualize the examined repertoire, to link it to the musical and artistic production of Europe and Latin America and to confront it with contemporary debates driven by aesthetic thought.

Goals:
1. Analyze the History, theory, analysis and interpretation of music in Spain from the 18th century to the present, paying attention to the diffusion processes of the repertoire, especially in the Hispanic sphere.
2. Identify the theoretical foundations in the history of the performing, lyrical and choreographic arts and compare them with those of the Hispanic sphere
3. Examine the links between musical heritage and cultural identity
4. Examine the dynamics of operation in the field of the music industry, new technologies and audiovisual documentary heritage
5. Investigate the historical transformations of musical performance in Spain
6. Extend the study of musical sources to musical iconography and archaeology.
