OBJECTIVES:

The general purpose pursued by the investigations of this group is to contribute to the knowledge of the musical, ethnological heritage of Spain, Latin America and other areas of the world in its different modes of transmission, as well as to favor their identification, conservation, preservation and study.

Its main objectives include:
  • Identify, inventory, catalog and study musical phenomena and products and ethnographic and ethnological heritage belonging to the Spanish and Latin American cultural heritage.
  • Initiate new lines of research, such as the digital capture and treatment of musical expressions of oral tradition and manifestations of traditional and / or popular culture and multimedia.
  • Editing sound and audiovisual materials on digital media after a mastering process aimed at preserving documents.
  • Catalog and study musical instruments, and any other manifestation of the ethnographic and ethnological heritage of the Spanish and Latin American spheres, or those belonging to different cultures that are related to those or belong to the heritage of the University of Valladolid.
  • Study processes related to the ethnological and musical heritage of oral, written and multimedia traditions in their socio-cultural links.
