Description

OBJECTIVES:

With the constitution of the group it is intended to achieve the following general objectives:
  • The consolidation of lines of study that, without neglecting the local, regional or individual framework (artists, constituents, social groups), enrich their interpretation with an open vision that takes into account the circulation of ideas, forms, artists, tastes and meanings.
  • The cooperation of the members in research projects, training of young researchers, Doctoral Thesis Direction and fundraising to finance the expenses of the research.
  • Dissemination of research results through publication and participation in scientific meetings.
To them are added other specific objectives, linked to an artistic periodization:
  • Study of Medieval Art between classical heritage, local traditions, Byzantine, Muslim and European influences, and the innovative capacity of spotlights and artists.
  • Study of the presence of works, formal languages ​​and artists from Italy, Flanders and other countries in Spanish Art of the Modern Age, especially in the Art of the Court and of the social elites, with an analysis of the degree of penetration of the ideas and aesthetic forms provided in the respective court environments.
  • Affirmations of artistic identities in the Castilian-Leon art of the Modern Age (foci, artists, images, cults, traditions, etc.).
  • The breaking of the limits in the reception and projection of the ideas, forms and artistic attitudes of Contemporary Art.
  • Application of transversal methodologies in certain questions such as the study of the gestation and diffusion of taste, the relations between gender and art, the artistic aspects related to fashion, artistic patronage understood as a language of power, etc.
