Description

OBJECTIVES
• Research group to study the mechanisms involved in neurogenesis and neuroregeneration.

The main objectives are:

- Identification of the mechanisms involved in the control of the replication and differentiation of neural stem cells during embryonic development.

- Application of embryonic control mechanisms to the replication and neuronal differentiation of stem cells from the adult central nervous system.

- Applicability of the mechanisms of control of neurogenesis in processes of neuronal regeneration. Study of its utility in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

- Studies of mechanisms involved in the genesis of congenital malformations of the nervous system and sense organs.

- Involvement of extracellular matrix molecules in the genesis of congenital malformations.

RESEARCH LINES
• Study of the role of embryonal cerebrospinal fluid in the gene expression of neuroepithelial stem cells.
• Growth regulation factors and axonal myelination in the peripheral nervous system.
• Study of the role of embryonal cerebrospinal fluid in adult brain stem cells. Proteomic study of embryonal cerebrospinal fluid.
• Study of the role of embryonal cerebrospinal fluid in the replication and neurogenesis of neuroepithelial cells
• Study of extracellular matrix molecules in epithelial adhesion processes during development.
