Description

OBJECTIVES
•1-Carry out a functional description of the genes, molecules, pathways and cells that are related to the different states of health and disease associated with the function of the mucosa.

2-Compose a series of partial hypotheses of each component of mucosal function, and establish possible genetic, genomic or protein markers, with the potential to serve in the diagnosis or monitoring of diseases or as targets for therapeutic intervention.

3-Validate these hypotheses through functional studies: Cell or tissue cultures, or animal models.

4-Evaluate, using these same tools, possible molecules or treatments with therapeutic potential.
