Description

OBJECTIVES
The group dedicates its activity to the study of homogeneous catalysis for the synthesis of high added value molecules and special polymers with transition metal complexes. The main objectives are:
  • Development of new catalytic processes with transition metals
  • Improvement of existing catalytic processes
  • Design of catalytic systems and substrates that lead to clean processes from the environmental point of view and replace polluting processes.
  • Synthesis of new catalysts
  • Study of the mechanism of chemical reactions
  • Synthesis of new polymers
  • Synthesis of new organic molecules with high added value
The methodology used includes:
  • the synthesis of new complexes and ligands,
  • the complete structural characterization of the catalysts and reaction products,
  • the characterization in solution of reaction intermediates and poorly stable species,
  • the kinetic study of chemical reactions as a whole and step by step
  • the thermodynamic study of compounds and chemical reactions.
