Description

The purpose of this research group is to promote the joint work of the members in relation to communication and intercultural skills in a foreign language. The aim is to study these skills from different perspectives, such as, for example, the teaching and learning of foreign languages (mainly oral skills in the English language) or the difficulties that a given text may pose to a translator or interpreter. By establishing a recognized group with clear lines of action and research, it is intended that the member teachers can work in the same direction and achieve relevant research results (through conferences, projects and publications), which in turn have a positive impact on their teaching activity (through the interventions carried out in the classroom thanks to the teaching innovation projects that they jointly request).

OBJECTIVES:
  • Study communication and intercultural skills in a foreign language and the different teaching methods to promote them.
  • Carry out educational interventions in the classroom, studying the impact that the use of various materials and methods can have.
  • Conduct a workshop (or online courses) aimed at students where they are informed from a theoretical-practical level of the relevance of these skills and of the existing methods for their work, with the intention that they allow them to work autonomously on these skills.
  • Consider the possibility of a joint publication or presentation at a congress in order to present the results obtained in the interventions carried out in the PID and in the workshop.
  • Meet annually to share the work carried out, share their academic and research progress with the other members of the group in order to find and assess possible lines of future joint action.
  • Publicize their work nationally and internationally through their website, publications, conferences and other joint activities.
  • Assess the possibility of requesting a joint research project.
