Description

Edu - Fab Lab is a laboratory made up of members of the Palencia Faculty of Education and education professionals who work on the development of innovative ideas and truly transformative projects, it is dedicated to the production, research and dissemination of educational and cultural projects , explores the forms of experimentation and collaborative learning, with the intention of articulating the productions of the university world with the experience of the professional field and the educational industry, giving rise to the development of lines of joint work that have a direct impact on the educational sphere.

Research lines and objectives:
  • Enable an open platform that invites and allows users to configure, alter, and modify research and production processes.
  • Sustain an active community of users through the development of these collaborative projects.
  • Offer different forms of participation that allow the collaboration of people with different profiles (artistic, scientific, technical), levels of specialization (experts and beginners) and degrees of involvement.
What kind of projects can we carry out within our edu-Fab Lab?
  • A permanent space for information, listening and meeting attended by mediators who explain the nature of the space and put people in contact with people, people with projects, and projects with projects.
  • Open calls for the presentation of proposals and participation in the collaborative development of projects.
  • A program of activities made up of production and training workshops, seminars and debates, meetings of different working groups, project samples, conferences and other events.
  • A work atmosphere designed especially for meeting, cooperation and exchange, where life and affections fit, the value of informality and closeness.
  • A system for promoting, producing or publishing results and content.

Edu-Fab Lab in Music
On the occasion of the appearance of the article by Claudio Casero in relation to the staging and premiere of the play: “The sentidor before his portrait”, in the first quarter of 2017 issue of the ADE Teatro Magazine, of the Directors Association from Spain, where the work carried out by our Musical Creation Laboratory is cited, we present the complete process of an intervention in Musical Pedagogy from the Faculty of Education of Palencia.

The three music teachers, Pilar Cabeza, Alicia Peñalba and Natalia Mota, and the 2nd year students of the Double Degree in Primary Education and Early Childhood Education as a whole have participated in this first project of the EDU FAB LAB and especially the group that has collaborated intensively with hours of extracurricular work.

The musical work has consisted in the creation of a sound plot and various moments of accusmatic creation that complemented the sound space of the staging at the premiere of the play at the Liceo Theater in Salamanca on December 2, 2016.

The result has been so satisfactory that it deserves to be taken into account in the studies on educational innovation and disseminated as part of many other proposals that are made at our University in different educational, social and cultural interventions of the various UVa Campuses.
