Description

Prototype for on-site recycling of plastics
Specific objectives:
1. Promote the Plastics Strategy in the Circular Economy through portable recycling prototypes capable of processing at least 100,000 PET bottles / event in situ at large sporting events and producing final products by hot extrusion.
2. Minimize the environmental impact of PET waste treatment by increasing energy efficiency and reducing its impact on the life cycle.
3. Create a new business model to reduce resource consumption (up to 2,500 kg of PET processed / event), energy consumption (20% reduction in energy consumption with project technology compared to the creation of injection products conventional) and CO2 emissions (approximately 0.64 g of CO2 are produced in 50 kg of plastic per injection). CO2 generation is expected to be reduced by at least 10% compared to injection techniques and through on-site processes.
