To research and disseminate knowledge about the cultural heritage of our area (demo-ethno-anthropological), promoting the improvement and specialization of those engaged in its study and the transmission, conservation and propagation of this heritage.

Dignify and enhance the value of traditional culture, an important part of the cultural spectrum, dispersed or absent in the regulated curricula.

Since its creation, the Chair has worked continuously and coherently, bringing together experts in different fields in its activities - courses, postgraduate courses, lecture series, symposiums, congresses and exhibitions. Under its tutelage, research work is coordinated and it collaborates in international projects in all areas of Cultural Anthropology. The Chair of Studies on Tradition is currently a reference in Cultural Anthropology in Castilla y León and has, in addition, a great projection in Spain and Europe.
