Description

Aims of the Chair

To support and stimulate the research and training activities of its members and teams in relation to Ibero-America, either by subject or by cooperation between parties.
To advise, stimulate and promote academic and scientific activity in the patrimonial group in charge of the Uva in relation to Ibero-America.
To support the opening of academic, scientific and technical bridges with Ibero-America, from a quality perspective at the level of the entire Autonomous Community.

Social and economic interest

Relations with the Ibero-American world are not only historical, but also at a moment of maximum importance.
The development of the countries of America has brought with it an interest in Spanish culture and research in the most diverse fields of science. As a result, the CTRI and the Cátedra Brasil are a common meeting place for Spanish and American researchers, who carry out their research in Spain or in their countries. The CTRI has hosted the ambassadors of Brazil, Mexico, Peru, the Minister of Culture of Spain (2019) and holds international congresses, courses and seminars.
This means a wide echo in the media and the recognition of both academic and political authorities. From the economic point of view, the relations with different groups of Ibero-American businessmen represent a meeting forum that has an impact on the economy of the area, especially in Tordesillas.
