The CEAm exists thanks to the collaboration agreement between the Fundación Municipal de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Valladolid and the UVa for the realization of activities in the Center, located in the Casa Museo de Colón.

Among its aims is the dissemination of culture, one of its essential activities being the service to society through the dissemination of knowledge and the promotion of culture.

The CEAm develops an annual program of activities: bibliographic activities, informative activities (conferences open to the general and/or specialized public, other activities of a scientific nature).

The activities of the Center for American Studies are financed by the City Council of Valladolid through the aforementioned Agreement. These activities have been well received by the public of Valladolid and by the University (teachers and students).

We think that the didactic repercussion has been interesting, and the interest in the topics presented has been to the liking of the general public, who have participated in the interesting debates held after each conference.

In this way, the Columbus House Museum and the University of Valladolid are becoming visible not only locally, but also nationally and internationally, since its collaborators belong to various academic and cultural institutions.

The activities are disseminated through the cultural magazine ENTREMES, the web page sidcsva.com and by sending posters of each activity by mailing, e-mail, ordinary letters, and by pasting posters in different buildings of the University of Valladolid.

In each of the activities carried out in the CEAm, the logos of the City Council of Valladolid, the Vice-Rectorate of Communication and University Extension of the UVa, and the CEAm itself appear.
