Description

Lexicography is the scholarly discipline which mainly develop and analyze theories linked to dictionaries. At the International Centre for Lexicography of the University of Valladolid, Lexicography is developed in the theoretical frame called Lexicography Functional Theory that strongly states that a dictionary is a tool in charge of meeting specific users' needs regarding information in oder to support their reading activities, translation (communicative situation), or even, when learning a topic (communicative situation). In the general frame, the GIR participants (Reconognized Research Group) in collaboration with members of the Centre for Lexicography of the University of Aarhus (Denmark) have developed a varity of specialized online dictionaries (for instance, accounting dictionaries). This has contributed to the theoretical and practical development when creating dictionaries including dynamic articles designed for meeting users' needs in multiple communicative situations.n That is why, these dictionaries, commecialized by the Danish company Ordbogen.com (its associated undertaking company, Lemma.com), are considered state-of-the-art dictionaries. They are focused on the three fundamental elements when integrating all information tools at the highest abstract level: user's needs, data accessibility and contentt accuracy. To do so, they pursued this objective with the help of different experts: (a) lexicography experts; (b) experts in different fields; such as: Economy or Law if needed; (c) experts in Communication Sciences; (d) experts in lexicographical data bases; (e) experts in one o more languages; etc... The GIR (Recogniced Research Group) counts on these experts, as well as some lecturers at the University of Valladolid. In addition, lecturers at the University of Aarhus's (Denmark), the University of Pretoria and Stellenbosh (South Africa) and the University of Exeter (United Kingdom) also belong to the GIR. At the same time, some other Communication Science experts, that belong to the Ordbogen.com staff, are working in the creation of these dictionaries. Some products can be found on Lemma.com: http://lemma.com/ Accounting dictionaries are available at:http://lemma.com/dictionary/special/center-for-leksikografi/accounting/?dict=Spanish+Accounting
