Description
Optimization of the agricultural activity by applying scientific and technological principles to the used tecniques and produced crops. Within this working unit, we research issues related to sustainable agricultural production and alternative crops, as well as the introduction of new technologies into agriculture. The goals are to improve the quality of the production processes, to comply with the European sustainability requirements and to cut costs.Other information

Agricultural industry. Agro-food industry. Industries related to the above, such as the ones focused on the production of fertilizers, plant protection products and machinery, among others.
Additional Information:
The search for technological solutions to the needs of the actors from agricultural industry, agronomy, agricultural engineering or environment, through applied research, experimental development or innovation, is a key task in ITAGRA.CT, organized by the RDI department that manages and implements all developed projects. From regional to international level, and for all kinds of companies and institutions, ITAGRA.CT makes comprehensive efforts to develop RDI projects, from the initial idea to the dissemination of the results, including additional support to search for the necessary funding, according to the client's needs. The deparment staff is an interdisciplinary team, composed of specialists in several subjects assigned to the existing units. This allows to develop projects with a global focus, providing complete solutions. Techniques: Agricultural laboratory. Microbiology laboratory. Experimental laboratory. There, we carry out the analytics needed for the smooth conduct of agricultural and food activities (soils, foliar feeding, water, fertilizers, compost, animal feeding, seeds, as well as wines, surfaces and microbiological parameters for the food industry, amon others). Awards: The Graverde project was awarded with the Premio de Medio Ambiente 2009, environmental award given by Caja España savings bank.
