Description

Some of the SINGACOM group's (Spanish acronym for Singularities, Algebraic Geometry, Commutative Algebra, Coding, Combinatorics, Computation and Optimization) members are the national researches responsible for the development of IMAGINARY, an international platform offering open and interactive mathematics. Such platform has a variety of interactive content that can be used in schools, homes, museums, exhibitions, events or press. Within this field, the group is responsible for the following activities: Development of the website and its visual display Development of IMAGINARY exhibitions and its creative features Cultural innovation within the IMAGINARY field IMAGINARY for maths education and scientific training

Advantages:

IMAGINARY is a collaborative project. The content is provided by authors with different profiles and from different countries. Using the platform, new channels of collaboration with other users can be established by discussing their works, and common projects can also be developed. The projects are open to collaboration. The entire community is invited to participate in, work on, think about and help in its design, programming or implementation, resulting in a new exhibition, software, publication, other ways of explaining maths, and more.

Additional Information:

IMAGINARY is a non-profit organization based in Berlin. Until 2016 it was a project of the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach. The platform is funded by Klaus Tschira Stiftung (2011-2016). The Spanish Royal Mathematical Society, through the Committee RSME-IMAGINARY, is an essential part of IMAGINARY and organizes the travelling exhibition (art and geometry) as well as the Spanish edition of the platform .
