Description

OBJECTIVES:
Obtaining and characterizing fundamentally thermoplastic polymeric materials, with improved properties for use in industrial applications. For this, it is investigated in mixtures of thermoplastic materials, as well as reinforced with inorganic compounds (composites). The fundamental objective is the improvement of properties to impact, to the increase of temperature (HDT), elastic modulus, etc.

These materials are subjected to chemical and electron radiation processes to produce a crosslinking between chains and thus optimize their properties.

Another objective or line of research is focused on the preparation and characterization of nanocomposites. These thermoplastics are reinforced with nanoclays, previously modified. The properties to be improved are fire retardant, permeability, in addition to the mechanical ones previously described.
