Description

OBJECTIVES
• The purpose of the group is the study of pollution treatment, recovery and recovery systems and the application of environmental control and management tools in the industrial sectors. To achieve this, the following specific objectives are proposed:
1. Biologically treat Greenhouse Gases, VOCs, and odors using high-transfer gas-liquid bioreactors, with special emphasis on the development of biorefineries derived from the biomass produced.
2. Carry out a comprehensive treatment of wastewater with special attention to the revaluation of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorous and the elimination of micro-contaminants
3. Valorize sewage sludge and organic waste by anaerobic digestion applying pretreatment technologies that optimize energy production and improve the final quality of the biosolide for agricultural application.
4. Develop processes for the integral use of residual biomass, applying the concept of biorefinery to obtain biofuels, bioplastics, proteins and products with high added value.
5. Use biological technologies for the enrichment of biogas to biomethane through photosynthetic, microaerobic and hydrogenotrophic systems
6. Apply molecular biology tools for monitoring, analysis and optimization of bioprocesses.
7. Employ sustainable management tools for the full use of resources, reducing costs and minimizing waste and the impacts generated by industrial processes.
