Description
OBJECTIVES
• The TERMOCAL research group (acronym for Thermodynamics and Calibration) can place its beginning with the granting of a research grant for its implementation within the first call of the Secretary of State for Universities and Research in 1985. Since then It has consolidated and can show a historical evolution of reliable results. Since the aforementioned date, it has been, and is being subsidized, uninterrupted with the granting of research projects, both national and regional or European, as well as contracts with the industrial world. The group has been increasing its experimental equipment and expanding its field of research activity, as evidenced by its publications in international research journals with a high impact index in the ISI SCI, its research collaboration with important foreign laboratories or its accreditation by the Entity. National Accreditation (ENAC).
His research specificity is diverse and can be summarized in the following points today:
1. The experimental determination by means of very high precision techniques of thermodynamic properties of multicomponent fluid systems (liquid and gaseous) and of their equilibrium properties with other phases, in this regard is involved in the study of oxygenated additives in unleaded gasoline and in the thermodynamic characterization of gas mixtures related to natural gas.
2. Metrology and calibration in the metrological fields of temperature, pressure and humidity, the laboratory being accredited by the National Accreditation Entity (ENAC), with activity in all its facets, from external metrological services to metrological research, including the advice and training.
3. Biomass research within the domain of Renewable Energies, with studies on their combustion, the reduction of their environmental impact, thermoeconomic optimization, energy revaluation and the elimination of hazardous waste.
4. Research in Didactics of Experimental Sciences, through the development of electronic didactic resources, the incorporation of new strategies in the teaching-learning process or the study of the interrelationships within the science, technology and society trinomial.
5. The energetic and exergetic analysis of industrial processes and plants, as well as their thermoeconomic conclusions.
6. Training at the postgraduate level, both doctorate and master and specialization, as well as advisory and evaluation tasks in relation to the previous points of our specialization in the fields of R + D + i.
