Social and economic interest

The use and management of data has become a socio-technological phenomenon, transforming the culture of communication and social and business relationships. "DATA is the new factor of production and is an important source of VALUE for people and for all types of organizations, both in the public and private sectors.
Collecting, storing, managing and using data raises new challenges related to privacy, ownership, identity, privacy, trust and reputation1.
Ethics must be present throughout the data life cycle: collection, storage, management, privacy and use, and become a matter of the highest priority in the environment of uncertainty and disruption in which we are immersed, so that the use of new technologies is part of a human-centered economic model.
Trust in the use and management of data has been deteriorating, so the analysis and provision of solutions by the various stakeholders must be more intense.
Investors, customers, regulators, among other stakeholders, expect companies to explain their practices in the use and management of data, justify its use, report on governance and contribution to create a better society. An ethical use of data must respect privacy, provide transparency and avoid bias and discrimination.
