Description

Computer-supported cooperative work (CSCW), with particular emphasis on Computer Supported Cooperative Learning (CSCL). The GSIC/EMIC group provides tools for the support to cooperative learning, as well as the launching and evaluation of significant scenarios of the entire education system. Some projects developed in the framework of this research line are listed below: METIS: Meeting teachers co-design needs by means of integrated learning environments. European Union Commission [2012-2015].ILDE: Integrated Learning Design Environment. Product developed with UPF (Pompeu Fabra University) (Open source). PREATY: Proposing modern E-Assessment approaches and Tools to Young and experienced in-service teachers. European Union Commission [2012-2014]. GLUE!–PS. Software architecture and data model designed to use and manage in real time learning designs specific in different languages and existing virtual learning environments (VLE). Moodle. Project partly financed by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Finance TIN2008-03-23 , TIN2011-28308-C03-02 e IPT-430000-2010-054, and the Regional government of Castilla y León VA293A11-2 .GLUEPS-AR. Teaching support system for the display of designs in different technological scenarios through the orchestration of learning situations. GLUEPS-AR has been integrated with the Bucket-Server system. Project partly financed by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness TIN2011-28308-C03-02 and the Project VA277U14 of the Autonomous Comunity of Castilla y León. Glue!. Middleware architecture that allow a slight integration of the existing external tools in the virtual learning environments (VLEs) existing, as Moodle o LAMS. The code of GLUE! Can be downloaded and installed in an open way.

The Group of Intelligent & Cooperative Systems / Education, Media, Informatics & Culture (GSIC/EMIC in its Spanish acronym) is a cross-cutting group composed of teachers, researchers and personnel from the Higher Technical School of Telecommunications Engineering, the Computer Engineering School and the Department of Education and Social Work of the University of Valladolid. It is an Official Research Group (GIR in its Spanish acronym) within the University of Valladolid and it is considered a Consolidated Research Unit (UIC in its Spanish acronym) by the regional government of Castilla y León. The GSI/EMIC research group leads and works on various research, development and teaching-innovation projects, funded at international, European, national and regional levels.
