Description

OBJECTIVES
The group's objective is to generate knowledge and train research staff in the field of its lines of research, thus applying this knowledge to promote the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the educational field.

In particular, the group pursues the following main objectives:
  • Define and evaluate Collaborative Learning Flow Patterns (CLFPs) to facilitate the design of CSCL applications and encourage reuse of software.
  • Study and apply different middleware platforms to deploy distributed systems, in their specific use in the CSCL domain. In particular, web services and the computational grid are studied.
  • Study and apply the adequacy of the use of ontologies for the formalization of the CSCL domain, and to facilitate participatory design as well as facilitate searches for educational services in the process of design and deployment of CSCL applications.
  • Define methods for the evaluation of the learning process, with spatial emphasis on the analysis of interactions between the apprentices, as well as giving computational support to this evaluation.
  • Study different methods of machine learning, with an emphasis on the neurodiffuse systems of Adaptive Resonance Theory, and its application in different fields related to computer-supported learning.
