Description
The University of Valladolid ETSII’s IT Department offers the creation of a virtual version of any resource through software, such as a hardware platform, an operating system, a storage device or other network resources. Overall, it offers a blank virtualization system (Linux or Windows, not Apple) through which different virtual machines can execute different operating systems and multiple applications at the same time using one single physical equipment. In this way, since each virtual machine is isolated from other virtualized machines, the rest of virtual machines will not be affected by a possible crash.Other information

Advantages:
There are a lot of benefits for the consolidation of Linux or Windows servers through the harnessing of different existing virtualization server products. Some of them are featured below: The number of physical servers decreases, which directly reduces hardware maintenance costs. The efficiency of the space utilization in its data center can increase. By having each application within its own "virtual server" it can prevent one application from effecting other applications when making improvements or changes. It is possible to develop a virtual server building standard that can be easily duplicated which will speed up server deployment. It is possible to deploy multiple operating system technologies on a single hardware platform (i.e. Windows Server 2003, Linux, Windows 2000, etc.).
