OBJECTIVES
• The accelerated development of ICT has had a special impact on the educational world. From the raison d'être of the institutions to the formation of the student body, the way of teaching and learning or the necessary means and infrastructure are questions that require a profound review and new answers that, for the most part, can only be found through studies. and projects that address this problem from different perspectives.
"Education and ICT" integrates a group of teachers from the Departments of Didactics and School Organization and Didactics of Musical, Plastic and Body Expression linked to each other by the interest in the study of ICT in educational contexts, a topic in the who have been working to date, both in other research groups and in the UVa itself. The ordinary members of the group have participated in various projects and are the authors of numerous publications related to ICT. At the same time, two of the associate members are, in addition to UVa professors, training advisers to the Segovia Teachers Center (one of them of New Technologies). Among the associate members, two currently carry out their doctoral work on topics related to the purpose of this group (Digital Whiteboards and School 2.0).
Our main lines of research focus on: the influence of the media and ICT in education and society; virtual learning environments; digital literacy; Web 2.0 in the teaching and learning processes; incorporation and use of ICT in educational institutions; initial and permanent teacher training for the use of ICT; design, development and evaluation of multimedia educational materials and virtual teaching and learning environments and programs that integrate the use of ICT in teaching at different educational levels; e-inclusion: equal access and participation in the information society.
The main objectives of the group include the following:
- Promote the development of projects and research that contribute to generating knowledge to improve teaching and learning processes in environments mediated by technological resources.
- Evaluate the degree of digital and methodological competence of teachers at different educational levels and propose training itineraries that respond to their shortcomings.
- Investigate the degree of implementation of ICT in educational centers and the ongoing training of their teachers.
- Analyze and investigate the development of School 2.0, a plan launched by the Spanish Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Autonomous Communities.
- Collaborate in carrying out projects with other groups, companies and institutions.
- Spread the knowledge generated through publications and other digital media, courses, conferences, etc.
