OBJECTIVES
1) Research, development and evaluation of diagnostic methodologies applicable to viral infections.

2) Epidemiological investigation of diseases and clinical syndromes of viral etiology of relevance in the community.
       - Flu virus and other respiratory viruses.
       - Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
       - Gastroenteritis virus.
       - Human papilloma virus (HPV)

3) Diagnostic and epidemiological investigation of emerging viral diseases.
