Description

The purpose of the GIR HISMEDIA is to become a reference in the UVa in the studies on History and Media, based on the consolidated trajectory in this field promoted since the 70s of the last century at the University of Valladolid and where the school of Professor Celso Almuiña. HISMEDIA was born as an interdisciplinary group that brings together researchers from different areas of knowledge interested in the study of the media and journalism from a historical perspective, trying to give a current projection and utility to research and academic activity.

OBJECTIVES
a) Establish a permanent observatory of the relations between History and the media to be able to project them today.

b) Perform the analysis from both quantitative and qualitative parameters of the journalistic manifestations inscribed in the dominant journalistic and communicative phenomena throughout History.

c) Analyze how the way of understanding journalism, information and the role of the media has influenced the historical evolution.

d) Analysis of the role of the media throughout history, understood as a historical-social agent of change.

e) Analyze the impact and repercussions that the evolution of journalism and the media has had on public opinion.
